It’s been a week since La French Touch Conference (un)San Francisco and we’re still thrilled! What a day of stimulating exchanges!

For those who could not make it, a summary of the (un)conference was published on our blog as well as three articles on each session (investment, tech for good, education).

Partnered event 

For the third year in a row, we are pleased to partner with AmCham France for the Global Growth Pitch Competition that will take place on February 23, 2018. If you have the ambition to expand in the US, don’t hesitate to apply before January 30!

News from our LFTC ecosystem 

Congratulations to Anaïs Barut and Joséphine Goube, who were featured in the list of the 10 female entrepreneurs to follow in 2018! [article in French]

Anaïs Barut is the co-Founder & CEO of DAMAE Medical, and won the special prize of our flying startup competition Pitch in the Plane in 2016.

Last year, we had the chance to listen to the CEO of Techfugees Josephine Goube on the stage of La French Touch Conference Paris.

French ecosystem 

Following their nomination to participate in the NRF 2018, French startup Simplifield announced the opening of a new office in New York. Simplifield is a platform that facilitates data analysis and tracking by collecting them in one dashboard. [article in French]

Already present in San Francisco, the French startup Saagie will pursue its expansion with the opening of a new office in New York and two subsidiaries in Europe! Saagie is a platform for data collection & analysis that aims at making Big Data more accessible. [article in French]

Naïo Technologies is the rising start of French Agtech! The creator of weeded devices for local producers and large agricultural industries starts 2018 announcing future expansions outside of France, with a first stop in Japan. [article in French]



Google announced the opening of an AI research center in Paris, in addition to expanding its current office. As things always seem to go in threes, CEO Sundar Pichai will also create Google Hubs with local partners, including Rennes. [article in English]

In the meantime, Microsoft will open four data storage centers in France. After Germany, Ireland, and the Netherland, France is the fourth country to host those Microsoft’s facilities. [article in English]

Facebook increases its presence on the old continent! The social media giant announced the investment of €10million in its French AI research facility and the opening of digital training centers in Spain, Poland, and Italy. [article in English]

Beyond borders: EU ecosystem

Following a fundraising of €2.5 million, French startup CityMeo proceeds to a European expansion. Two new offices will open in Germany and the UK to accelerate the development of its device: a multi-screen remote controller that gives customers access to the content of any of their devices on a single interface. [article in French].

Education & Tech

Created a year ago, the first school dedicated to Fintech Wake Up just opened its new office in the heart of Paris. The curriculum offers courses to understand the global scope of Fintech, in coding, and personal development. [article in French]

A penny for your thoughts

One asset of Edtech is the accessibility and the adaptability of online courses offered to students. China, India, and Malaysia have invested in the sector to build a tech-enabled population and give to the new generations the in-demand skills. [article in English]
